THE WORKING, NOT A BLACK BOX

Behind the result - No mystery in the method

What this tool calculates

Planning remainder = entered funds − commitments − reserve. Daily allowance = max(planning remainder, 0) ÷ days to cover, rounded down to the smallest displayed currency unit.

What it does not do

A negative remainder is shown as a shortfall with a zero daily allowance. Up to seven days of allowance is daily allowance × the smaller of seven and your entered days. This is not a spending authorization or a forecast of actual charges. It does not fetch a real bank balance, access a bank account, or store planning data on a server.

Inputs, rounding and privacy

Use a full stop for decimals, no grouping commas, and at most two decimal places. Amounts are limited to 1,000,000,000 per field. A currency choice changes display labels only; no exchange rates are applied. Blank optional fields are omitted from the worksheet; blank optional amounts contribute zero when arithmetic needs a value. Recurring-cost equivalents are rounded for display only. Entered text is displayed literally, not interpreted as HTML.

Printing and text downloads are generated in your browser. This tool does not save inputs in cookies, local storage or a database. Your device, browser extensions, print service and saved copies are outside this site’s control.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you go

Can I treat the daily allowance as guaranteed money to spend?

No. It is an estimate from the amounts you supply. Missing bills, fees, pending charges or incorrect figures can make it too high. Check your own records and priorities.

What if commitments and reserve exceed available funds?

The tool shows the shortfall and a daily allowance of zero rather than a negative spending recommendation. It does not offer credit or move money.

Why is the daily amount rounded down?

Rounding down to the smallest displayed unit prevents equal daily allowances from exceeding the entered planning remainder. A small rounding remainder may be left unallocated.

Can I save the limit and does the site track spending?

Use Print worksheet or Download text to keep your estimate. The site does not track purchases, fetch a balance or store your planning figures on a server.
